There are a number of floating markets within 100km of Bangkok as well as a really neat market that a train goes directly through called MaeKlong. We were told you couldn't do them both in one day and had to do a tour package. Obviously we did them both in one day on our own through the public bus system. Below is the Maeklong market. Notice the tracks in the pictures.
This happens six times a day.
