There have been many different mini adventures in this little town called Pai. It has been a favorite so far for its small town feel, active sights, and our comfortable little bamboo hut guest house. We are leaving today to make our way towards Laos after spending six nights here.

We went looking for "Pai Viewpoint" on a mountain top advertised as only 10km but 45 min away and eventually turned around. Our little scooter wasn't exactly the right equipment.

The hike to Mae Yen Waterfall was listed as a 6 hour round trip where from our readings online about 50% of hikers turn around lost looking for the waterfall. You basically just criss-cross the river for 3 hours is what the directions said. We made it in just over 2 hours up without getting lost and only saw two other people on our way down.

The road to Pai from Chiang Mai has a reported 762 curves. We believed it after getting here last week. We have to go back to Chiang Mai to get the bus to Laos today. Here is a little video of the road that puts the Trunk Bay switchbacks to shame.
